Dr. Gao earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University, and he is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His research interests focus on exploiting the sensing, computation, and communication capabilities of modern mobile computing platforms, including biomedical sensors, smartphones, and mobile cloud computing facilities, to facilitate smart and connected healthcare. Current research projects include the exploitation of mobile sensing for improving humans’ mental health, and the development of non-obtrusive blood glucose monitoring system for remote care of diabetes patients.
