Dr. Lorch earned his MD degree from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand and received training in Pediatrics and Neonatology from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology. Dr. Lorch currently holds a position of Professor in the Department of OB-GYN at the Graduate School of Medicine, UT College of Medicine. His research interests focus on applied technology to improve the care of critically ill neonates such as non-invasive monitoring of vital signs and bio chemicals, apnea stimulator, negative pressure ventilators, and lighter incubators.
