Dr. Benson earned a Ph.D. from Florida State University in Physical Chemistry of Polymers and completed postdoctoral training at the Center for Polymeric Implants at the University of Utah. Joined the research staff at Vascular International in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later joined the Polymer Engineering Program at the University of Tennessee. His current research interest focuses on the development of biodegradable polymeric systems for tissue scaffolds. The study of the chemistry, biological response, and morphological changes associated with surface modification of biomedical polymeric systems.
