Dr. Wasielewski earned his MD from The Ohio State University after completing his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Materials Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and StateUniversity. He then completed residency training in Orthopedics at University of Pittsburgh, followed by fellowship training in Joint Replacement surgery at RushPresbyterianHospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Wasielewski has held appointments ranging from associate professor, interim chairman, and also active chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at The Ohio State University until 2003. At that time he left the academic environment and now practices at the Grant Medical Center of OhioHealth, while pursuing his multiple intellectual property and small business interests. Dr. Wasielewski’s areas of focus have been on engineering solutions with orthopedic problems and issues. He has also worked extensively on dental stem cell technologies to commercialize a stem cell product to be used first in the equine market. He has held an adjunct professorship in the Department of BME since 2006 and has been on the board of the BME since 2009.
